Definition of board to board connector
Board-to-board connectors are the most powerful connector products among all connector product types in terms of transmission capability.
In high-speed train and industrial control and data center storage and switching systems, our board-to-board connectors provide reliable high-speed data transfer with greater clarity, while flame-retardant polarized housings protect connections in harsh environments. In high-speed computing, our backplane connectors help support data center architectures and the backbone of rugged embedded computing systems. On PCBs for mobile and wearable devices, as well as patient monitoring technology and security systems, our shrapnel can perform multiple functions: surface-mount internal connectors (our simple C-type) are used for antenna feeds and low-voltage electrical connections when designed for single contact, while our multiple preloaded shrapnel on the board are used to provide shielding against EMI noise and static.
Board-to-board (BTB) connectors are used to connect printed circuit boards (PCB), electronic components that contain a conductive pattern printed on the surface of the insulating base in an accurate and repeatable manner. Each terminal on a BTB connector is connected to a PCB. A BTB connector includes housing and a specific number of terminals. The terminal is made from a conductive material (mostly copper alloy), and plated to improve conductivity and antirust. Terminals transmit the current/signal between PCBs connected by BTB; the housing is made of insulating material (mostly plastic).
It is mainly used in electric power system, communication network, financial manufacturing, elevator, industrial automation, medical equipment, office equipment, home appliances, military manufacturing and other industries.
The main pitch of board-to-board connectors are 0.4mm, 0.5mm, 0.635mm, 0.8mm, 1.00m, and 1.27mm.
