Connector pin holder, also known in the industry as header or wafer, is a connector that is mounted on a printed circuit board and needs to be soldered to the circuit pin.
Common connector pin holders are: no cover base (for example: row needle structure), cover base (common wafer type), friction lock type.
The pin holder of the connector belongs to special plastic for high temperature environment, and needs to have high temperature resistance. For example, the needle holder used for surface mount welding shall be welded by reflow welding equipment, and the temperature shall reach about 265°; The other is that the pin type needs to be welded by wave soldering equipment, and the temperature resistance needs to reach about 230°. If the temperature of plastic can not reach the welding process will affect the normal use of structural deformation.
The needle seat is generally said to be the line to the board connector, because only the line to the board connector said the needle seat, the line to the line connector does not have the needle seat, the board to the board connector is about the row of pins and female, etc. Of course, there are some exceptions, such as the SAN90/180 degree (also known as JC20-90 degree) connector, is a wire-to-board connector, but there is no pin holder.
The material of the needle holder is generally phosphor bronze or alloy and then the surface is tinned or copper plated with gold, according to the needs of the product. The drawing force of the needle seat is also very important. Generally, in important products, the drawing force will be considered, as well as the number of inserting and pulling so that the quality of the needle seat will be tested. The needle seat of the wire to the plate connector is the core of the core.
